All of the published studies have confirmed that academic stress is a substantial problem for most people. Both children and adults often resort to avoiding situations or people that cause them distress as a means of managing their anxieties and worries. Through the analysis of hundreds of math exam papers, researchers determined the frequency and accuracy of the no-effort technique, also known as avoidance, for arithmetic problems presented to elementary school children. Several of the nations surveyed had alarmingly high rates of anxiety.
